a number of techniques that we use to achieve this goal.
Digital Imaging
Our office is pleased to announce the newest technology. We can now offer
dental imaging to our patients. We have the ability to take a digital photo of
your smile and show you the advances in cosmetic dentistry. Please ask any of
our team members about our free imaging consultation.
The Wand
The wand is our new computerized technology for dentistry that helps reduce
the discomfort when we numb your tooth. That typical pinch that you usually feel
was actually the pressure of the anesthetic. The wand eliminates that pressure
difference which in turn virtually eliminates any pain. The key to its effectiveness
is a computer-enhanced device that responds to pressure and controls the pressure
and volume of anesthetic. The benefits of the wand are that it is more comfortable,
uses less anesthetic and enhances specific tooth numbness.
Air Abrasion
With air abrasion, a fine pressurized stream of microscopic abrasive powder
is propelled at your tooth. The system can be compared to a miniature sand blaster,
removing small worn fillings, discoloration, stains and small amounts of decay
as the powder strikes your tooth. The advantages of air abrasion are that there
is no vibration, and little or no heat generation. There is precise removal of
the minimum amount of tooth structure and often no need for anesthetic, so there’s
no numbness.
We can’t use air abrasion to remove decay between teeth, or to prepare
a crown or a composite filling. However, air abrasion is a great option when
the decay is shallow or small, and it often allows us to avoid anesthetic or
the “drill.”

in one visit while you’re in the chair, with high-quality dental ceramic.

it to the lab. We won’t inconvenience you by asking you to return for a

Soft Tissue Laser
Lasers have become part of our daily lives. Now with new advancements in
technologies, lasers have become an important part of dentistry. There are a
number of different lasers and they are particularly useful to treat gums and
other significant soft tissue problems.
The advantages of laser therapy is faster healing, less bleeding and reduced
swelling. Lasers are commonly used in cosmetic gum recontouring, lesion removal,
and treatment of gum disease, gum removal and gum surgery. Soft tissue laser treatment is an effective new technology
that allows us to work faster and with more precise control which means faster
healing and less pain for you.
